Let’s talk. Because something weird is happening in 2025.

I scroll through Threads and everyone sounds the same.

It feels like I’m back in academia again. Everybody uses the same tone, same words, same structure, and same voice.

Why?

Because everybody uses AI.

But:

AI is not the issue. Sounding the same is. And sounding the same is the death of any personal brand.

If you’re wondering why you’re not growing, look at your writing. If you sound like everybody else, then you are everybody else.

Your brand doesn’t grow by fitting in – it grows by standing out. And AI, when used the wrong way, kills the very thing that makes you stand out – your voice.

Now don’t get it twisted:

AI can help you. It can sharpen your language, speed up your writing process, and help you research topics.

But if you use AI to replace thinking, reflecting, and writing, you’re not building a brand; you’re building an empty, lazy, and soulless content machine.

And the truth is:

Shallow, lazy work will NEVER be rewarded.

Even if you use AI, you still need to put in the work. You still need to think, write, and reflect. You can’t escape the grind.

Hard work can’t be replaced.

If you use AI as a shortcut – if you’re using it to “do less” – you’re going to get left behind. AI can help you, but it can’t replace you. It can’t replace your voice. It can’t replace your soul.

You are using AI to produce faster, but you’re hurting your voice, brand, and connection to your audience.

Sure, your posts are faster now. But what are they even saying? You use big words with little depth. And more importantly, do your posts sound like you?

I highly doubt it.

Shallowness and laziness are the death of a writer. And that’s exactly where we are heading – we are living in an age of shallow thinkers:

  • Lazy AI prompts
  • Endless short-form swipe content
  • Screenshots instead of note-taking
  • Blinkist 10-minute book summaries
  • Reading tweets instead of reading books
  • Jim Kwik’s “3x your reading speed in 3 weeks”
  • Podcasts played at 2x speed just to finish them
  • Book reviews by people who didn’t read the book
  • Watching 5 YouTube videos and thinking you’re an expert

So I’m saying this with love and respect: Fuck your summaries. What happened to reading a book from start to finish?

And to be completely honest, I got lost in it too – The deep research AI models, the Blinkist summaries, the YouTube shortcuts, the hook hunting.

I became efficient, fast, and effective. But I also became shallow and lazy in the process.

Now I’ve been reading a book a week again. And the more I read, the more I resent Blinkist.

The magic of a book (and life) is in the details. Summaries destroy all magic.

Everything now has to be short, fast, and easy – and it’s completely wrecking your ability to think.

So here’s the truth:

AI is a tool.

Use it to clean your drafts, organize your thoughts, and bounce ideas. But don’t expect it to replace the hard part – thinking.

AI can’t do the living, thinking, and growing for you.

Personal brands don’t grow from sameness. They grow from honesty, hard work, and depth.

So stop using AI like everybody else. Stop sounding like everybody else.

Go live an interesting life, read books in depth, self-reflect about your reality, give yourself time to think deeply about a topic, and for the love of God – don’t ask AI to summarize every book for you.

Establish a reading and journaling routine instead. Because if you don’t do that, you won’t make it as a writer.

As a writer, you need to become a student of life, writing, and philosophy. And that requires in-depth thinking and reflection. There is just no other way. No AI can do this part for you.

Saying “But I have AI” is the weakest excuse you can give. Your shallow AI prompts won’t make you a writer.

You think AI will save you. It won’t.

I’m sorry if this e-mail comes across as heated, but the more I read online writers’ content, the more I see how shallow, same, and uninspired writing has become. They all sound the same. And this has to stop.

Hope that helps.

With love and respect,

Fuck your summaries. Haha lol sorry I’m getting emotional.

Much love to you all ❤️
